General Meeting on Jan. 18th

January 8, 2008

We’re making our January General Meeting an annual tradition now to do a joint fishbowl discussion with our brother organization GAPIMNY (Gay Pacific Islander Men of New York).

This year, Q-Wave and GAPIMNY invite you to a “fishbowl conversation” about queer Asian-American visibility.

We’ll explore our Visibility as queer Asian-Americans at home and in the workplace, discuss legal aspects and issues, as well as media coverage and portrayal.

Featured speakers include:

  • Tristan Vizconde, APICHA
  • Kris Hayashi, ALP
  • Un Jung Lim, The Dari Project
  • Terrence Gong, Downetime
  • Pauline Park, NYAGRA (tentative)

This a joint, multi-gender meeting, but it will begin with an introduction of Q-Wave Steering Committee members and elections for GAPIMNY’s 2008 Steering Committee.

Date: January 18, 2008 | Time: 8:00pm-10:00pm, Friday
Location: The LGBT Community Center | 208 West 13th Street
Between 7th and 8th Avenues

For more information contact: or or 212-802-7428/RICE

Note: This event is a special joint meeting with GAPIMNY and Q-Wave, and is open to the memberships of both organizations. The meeting is open only to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and questioning women, men, transgender, and gender-variant people of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage. Thanks for respecting the space.
