Help us celebrate Q-Wave’s 4th birthday with a birthday benefit!
Catch up with old friends or just come to get to know us better. Enjoy yummy food (see below!), good company, and some fun in the sun. Partners, family, and friends are welcome to join us.

for the Carnivores: Soy Ginger Chicken Wings, Deluxe Hamburgers, & Grilled Hot Dogs
for All: Zucchini Eggplant Skewers
Sides: Savory Stuffed Mushrooms, Chilled Noodles in Peanut Sauce, & Red Bliss Potato SaladDesserts: Fudge Brownies with Fresh Strawberries & Sweet Clementines

Donation: sliding scale of $10 – $20
Directions: By Subway, 2 options: (1) Take the 2/3 Train to Grand Army Plaza, go to the Main Entrance, cross West Drive and enter Long Meadow, walk south on the left side, walk approx. 6 blocks to the PICNIC HOUSE AREA; and (2) Take the F Train to 7th Avenue, walkeast 2 Avenues to 3rd Street Park Entrance, cross West Drive, walk 1/2 block to the PICNIC HOUSE AREA. Bad with directions? If you’re feeling adventurous, wander in the general direction of the PICNIC HOUSE… trust us, you’ll see us.

Join us at Q-Wave/DowneTime’s LGBTQ Asian Young Adult “Meet & Greet” Picnic! 
Q-Wave and DowneTime/GAPIMNY are excited to announce a special joint young adult meeting! Celebrate the middle of summer by meeting and chilling with fellow queer asian young adults! You’ll meet your queer and trans sisters and brothers over a (bug-repellent) candle-lit picnic. Please bring food to share. There’ll be bubbly conversation, beautiful skyscrapers, and we’ll go out afterwards for drinks/dancing after it gets dark!

Location: Bryant Park (42nd, between 5th and 6th Ave), Manhattan

Asian-American International Film Festival

Where: mainly at the Asia Society (725 Park Avenue at 70th Street)
First came NewFest, then the New York Asian Film Fest and Japan Cuts @ Japan Society, and now the Asian-American International Film Festival (AAIFF)!! Escape from the heat and catch up on or rewatch Asian-American films. We are co-sponsoring a Japanese film short, “When I Become Silent”, which also played at this year’s NewFest. It will be showing on Wednesday July 16th at 7pm as part of the “Camus, Anyone?” program and Q-Wavers can get a discount to this by using the code COADVO.
