Dyke March, Saturday June 27th, 2009
Starts around 5pm from Bryant Park and goes down 5th Avenue to Washington Square Park. RSVP ahead of time to sc@q-wave.org so we know who’s coming or just look for Q-Wave T-shirts if you want to march with us! Please let us know that you are coming, dinner follows after march!
Pride Parade, Sunday June 28th, 2009
Meet up BY 11am (come earlier if you want to eat breakfast with us) at Torino Deli, 22 W 56th Street. Our line-up location is Section 3, on 56th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. If you don’t see us at the deli, look for us on the street… unless it is pouring, we’ll have the banner rolled out and colorful letters spelling out “ASIAN PRIDE”. The march sets off around 12pm, and we’ll probably be heading out around 12:45 to 1 pm. The route is 5th Ave from 52nd Street to 8th Street, then up 8th Street to Christopher, with the end point being Christopher and Greenwich Streets. Please e-mail us ahead of time at sc@q-wave.org so we know you’re coming!
PLEASE NOTE: We have received word that Governor Patterson is planning to march the entire route this year, and HOP anticipates even stricter/tougher security than usual. It may NOT be possible to join us along the route, so please plan on joining us at the beginning and leaving sometime during the march if you can’t do the whole thing, or joining up after we’ve finished marching, for dinner. Either way, let us know that you are coming so we will wait for you! ?RSVP at sc@q-wave.org.
“Dress code” – If you have something ethnic to wear that is comfortable, walkable, breathable, and able to withstand rain, please wear it! Otherwise, the theme this year is “paint the town ruby”, so please wear something in the darker shades of red. If you would like to wear a Q-Wave T-shirt and don’t have one, please e-mail us at sc@q-wave.org with your shirt size.
