9/27: Come N Hang Out Coffee Hour in Brooklyn!

Don’t drink coffee, what better alternative than boba tea? This Sunday, Q-Wave is heading to Williamsburg to Saint Alp’s Teahouse for tea, snacks and great conversations! Afterwards, we’re having Thai dinner at fun and exciting SEA. Come one, come all!

Wanna hang out in a chill setting with other queer Asians? Wanna meet new people in the NYC area? Then come join Q-Wave at our monthly Come `N’ Hang Out Coffee Hour this Sunday! This is a monthly event for everyone who is queer, LBTQ, questioning, and curious! We are here to talk about our concerns, questions, coming-out, staying-in, joy, fear, and all things that happen along the way of these experiences! We’re here to support each other. We’re here to have fun! If you think you’re anywhere from 0.001% to 100% queer, join us at Come N Hang Out Coffee Hour!

9/18 General Meeting: LGBTQ Movement: recent history, works, and future for Queer Asians

Dear Q-Wavers,

With the LGBTQ movement becoming stronger and the demands for queer rights, protection and equality gaining much publicity, are we clear on what these issues are about? How does the movement affect us all as queer Asians? How can we take part in creating social changes that affect our life, our rights, our safety, and dignity as equal human beings and rightful citizens?


This month, we have invited Pauline Park andBecca Ahuja, who are both long time political activists and community organizers, to join us for an informative discussion on the recent history and direction of the LGBTQ movement, as well as the changes that have been achieved and that are continuing to develop with the involvement of queer Asians and Pacific Islanders.

Please join us all at CUNY Graduate Center to learn about what has been happening on the political forefront of the LGBTQ community, what it means for our future in this country, and what we can do to create real social and political changes.
