August 11, 2010
Last month, 20+ Q-wavers took to the backwoods of NJ for an intense 3 days of community and leadership building workshops. The outcomes of the Retreat were some awesome ideas for Q-Wave’s future programming & development and a re-energized sense of commitment to Q-wave’s founding principles.
As a result, there has never been a more exciting time to learn about Q-Wave’s work, our future direction, and how to get involved. This month’s GM is where it starts!
First, retreat participants will share their stories and lessons learned with the greater Q-wave community. Then, we’ll open up the discussion about our top initiatives for the coming months:
1) Q-Wave’s Queer Youth Initiative
2) Volunteer Service Initiative
3) Queer Asian Dance/Party Circuit
4) Support Group
We’ll talk about what our community wants these projects to look like, and develop the means to get them accomplished.
We are inviting your vision and talents to bring these projects alive for the Queer API Women & Trans community in NYC and beyond. Everyone is welcome, and everybody is needed!
