8/19 Q-wave & SALGA Film Night: I AM

August 17, 2011

Hey Q-wavers,

Come join us (along with our co-sponsor, SALGA) on August 19th, at the CUNY Graduate Center to watch the film *I Am*.

Excerpt from http://sonalifilm.com/I-AM.html:

*I Am* chronicles the journey of an Indian lesbian filmmaker who returns to Delhi, eleven years later, to re-open what was once home, and finally confronts the loss of her mother whom she never came out to. As she meets and speaks to parents of other gay and lesbian Indians, she pieces together the fabric of what family truly means, in a landscape where being gay was until recently a criminal and punishable offense.

We’ll provide movie oriented snacks and drinks for you to munch on, and a discussion afterwards. If it tickles your appetite, we’ll head to a restaurant for some dinner together.

Suggested $5 Donation at door to help cover event related costs.

When: Friday, August 19th, 2011, 7pm – 9pm
Where: CUNY Center on 5th Ave between 34th and 35th Streets, Room 9207

Directions: (via subway): – B, D, F, V, N, R, Q, W to 34th Street/Broadway – 6 to 33rd Street/Park Avenue and walk 2 blocks west
