Q-Wave at the AAPI Heritage Festival

May 4, 2012

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month! And like the past years, Q-WAVE will be tabling (with GAPIMNY) at the AAPI Heritage Festival to promote awareness for the LGBTQ Asian American Pacific Islander community! It’s a great opportunity for us to show the AAPI community in New York that we are here, we’re queer, and to please buy some baked goods!

The festival itself is an open air market with a multitude of AAPI organizations and businesses with activities, performances, yummy food and drink stalls and a festive vibe. (http://www.capaonline.org/)

Time: Saturday, May 12th – 11:00AM to 6:00PM

Place: DUMBO (Brooklyn) – Under the bridge.

As fellow Q-Wavers, can you join us & volunteer to staff our table? Volunteers will be needed in 2-hour shifts from 10:00AM – 6:30PM.

We are also asking for volunteer bakers. While tabling & promoting awareness, we also do a BAKE SALE to help fundraise for Q-WAVE! Do you have knack for making delicious cookies or brownies? Or do you stink at both but are willing to donate a pre-made cake? If any of these apply to you, please help donate yummy delish baked goods that we can sell for Q-WAVE.

If you’re down to help in any capacity (volunteer/bake/buy), please fill out this VOLUNTEER FORM

And remember, the more volunteers – the more fun we’ll have! :) (Cough fillouttheform cough volunteerandhangoutwithpiali&aileen cough)

Cheers!
