Hello Qwave!

Join us for the Qwave 2012 Kick-Off General Meeting on Friday, February 17th, 7-9pm. Regardless of whether you’ve been involved with Qwave for a while, or whether you’ve just heard of us recently, let’s get acquainted and/or reacquainted!

A sneak peek at our (“gay”) agenda and topics:
* Who are we, and why does Qwave exist?
* How does Qwave relate to you?
* What are our core values?
* Who’s in the room, and who is missing?
* Where does Qwave stand in the larger LGBT movement?
* We’re damn proud of all the things we’ve done over the last year and we’re even more excited about the year ahead. Find out what we’re up to and how you can get involved.

We hope you can join us for this very special interactive kick-off meeting!  Drinks and light snacks will be provided and, as always, we will go out for a fun group dinner afterwards.

12/16 NYC’s 2nd Annual LGBT Asian Holiday Party!

December 7, 2011

It’s time for our 2nd annual Holiday Party (last year’s was HOT HOT HOT)! Come celebrate another year of successes with the LGBT Asian community.

We have a lot to celebrate this year. Together, Q-WAVE, GAPIMNY, and SALGA have increased LGBT Asian visibility in NYC and beyond. In 2011, we marched in the Lunar New Year Parade for the 2nd time, launched the Asian Pride Project to help Asian families with LGBT members, called out mainstream gay clubs for racist door policies and party themes, protested against ex-gay conversion therapy at home and abroad, launched transgender and gender non-conforming programming for the South Asian community, and much MUCH more! Let’s show our appreciation for community and action in the LGBT Asian community.

Featuring Suzanne Persard as our resident DJ with a mix of hip hop, bollywood, and reggae. Light food will be available for you late night eaters. There will also be a raffle with some great prizes.

Where: Chom Chom
40 West 56th Street, New York, NY 10019

When: Friday, Dec 16, 2011
11 PM – 3 AM

Cover Charge: $10 before midnight, $15 after

All money goes to support LGBT Asian community organizations in NYC:

QWAVE – www.q-wave.org
GAPIMNY – www.gapimny.org
SALGA – www.salganyc.org

This party is 21+. Come as you are. Allies are welcome.
